Naked, I stood at the closet doors with the lights on and made myself ready. I took a deep breath and positioned the mirrors so I could see all of me. I consciously worked to remove my self-believed inner image. I opened my eyes and looked very caref…
"As I looked in the mirror — clear-eyed and brave — I claimed every inch of my body with love, honor and deep care. This body is me. She has held my soul and carried my heart for all of my days. Each wrinkle and imperfection is a badge of my living and of my giving of life."
No no no and NO stretch marks are never cute!! wtf too lazy to go get some cocoa butter and use it daily? We all have stretch marks but we can get rid of it.. People should take care of themselves and if cocoa butter didnt work for you make an appointment for a laser stretch mark removal dont be a lazy ass
hey quick question: what’s your fuckin damage
Lol looks like sb5ive has a serious case of self hatred.
Stretch marks are fucking beautiful. I especially love them when they’re silvery and jagged like this, looks like she has a lace overlay. Absolutely gorgeous skin.
Btw cocoa butter does actual nothing to remove or prevent stretch marks. Stretch marks are bands of elastin that have broken under the skin. Topical application of an emollient - or anything, really - isn’t going to repair them. You can try a retinol (if you’re not pregnant or breastfeeding) or IPL/PDL (laser) treatments…but honestly look at this picture and tell me she doesn’t look gorgeous.
Stretch marks are like free body decoration. I love mine.
I’m definitely learning to love mine~~~
Us women can be soooo critical of our bodies and other women’s bodies. That woman looks great in her undies.
Stretch marks are like battle scars. It’s like, I’ve given birth and survived! or I lost a lot of weight and still here!
I’ve got it all. A big full belly, stretch marks, and two beautiful, adorable little girls. :)
So I saw the first picture on my dash and could not be more repulsed/motivated. Repulsed because the ideologies in the first photo are wrong —you don’t destroy yourself to be happy. You improve yourself. Depriving your body and your soul of nutrients and fuel gets you nowhere.
Then, I was motivated to make the bottom picture. So many people have helped me become who I am today. I too, once used the top photo as “thinspiration”. I then learned that harming yourself is not the answer to anything. If I learned anything from this process, it’s to remain true to myself. Feeding myself and fueling myself with positive thoughts got me as far as I am today. Not negativity or body shaming.
Women come in all shapes and sizes. Love the package that you came in.
The only standards you should live by are the standards you’ve set for yourself.
